Inventors have many questions relating to their invention and in our experience face a few key dilemmas. Traditionally, inventors within the medical arena face difficulties from the earliest stages of the project. MDi's unique business model allows us to address - and in most cases
solve the problems associated with producing a commercially viable
product.
Below are some examples of the main questions and dilemmas, and a brief description of how MDi is able to address each of them.
For queries relating to a particular idea or invention, please use the enquiry form provided. MDi can then address your needs specifically and at a time suitable to you.
I've got a great idea for a product but I can't seem to get anyone interested. What do I do when it's 'just too early for the product to be convincing'?
MDi invests in and develops projects to the point at which they become compelling to commercial partners. This includes filing and prosecuting patents, demonstrating proof-of-concept and assuring all work is conducted in compliance with international quality assurance standards.
Company X was interested in the concept but they just wanted to take it off me and pay me a pittance. How do I protect my interests?
MDi is experienced in negotiating commercial arrangements that are equitable and remunerative to all parties.
The college thinks it's a great idea, but they don't have any money to fund it, and I can't face the bureaucracy of applying for grants. How do I move ahead quickly?
MDi has a rapid evaluation and decision making process. We can move quickly to invest in and initiate outstanding projects.
I've been told this is a great concept, but that you can't form a company around a single project. What can I possibly do now?
MDi operates a portfolio approach and is already funded. Working with us avoids the need for and expense of establishing a separate company.
My clinical load means I just don't have the time to devote to this - how do I make sure my invention sees the light of day?
MDi can implement all aspects of a project you can be involved as much (or as little!) as you choose.
