MDi recognises that the true value of innovation is not only in the concept but also in the genius behind it.
Many practicing clinicians are great innovators who can produce ingenious solutions to solve routine problems. Unfortunately, many of those solutions remain as concepts in the minds of experts for a number of reasons: There is no funding to take them forward, the clinician / inventor has a commitment to the hospital and the patients, and the medical device companies cannot (or will not) act on a concept.
Our aim is to develop these concepts and to bring them to the global market as quickly as possible. Ideally, we like to involve the inventor as much as possible in the development process. Inventors are constantly apprised of our progress with the project and their expert advice is invited at key stages. In the meantime, MDi takes care of the tedious tasks of project development including, prototyping and testing, protection of the intellectual property and compliance with national and international regulatory requirements. Thus, the involvement of the inventor can be tailored in such a way as to obtain maximum expertise without the burden of time consuming sub-tasks.
